Information provided by the Chicago Southland Convention and Visitors Bureau

OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. (November 6, 2023) – Shipshewana — the American Midwest’s leading outdoor shopping market — will visit the Chicago Southland for the first time on November 11 and 12 with “Shipshewana On The Road” at the Ho-Chunk Southland Center in Lynwood, Illinois.

The two-day event brings keen shoppers together with vendors synonymous with Shipshewana’s original market based in the self-titled Indiana town. Artisans and crafters venturing to the Chicago Southland offer myriad shopping goods specializing in furniture, crafts, toys, home decor, clothing, jams, pastries, 14 karat gold, and sterling silver.

“We are so excited to be staging at the Ho-Chunk Southland Center,” said Greg Fountain, Shipshewana On The Road Event Director. “Hundreds of booths will be filled. It is a great opportunity for Chicago Southland residents and beyond to holiday shop and peruse an unparalleled variety of products. The event not only allows one to shop for merchandise that is nearly impossible to find at retail establishments, but it richly gears around family and friends.”

“’Shipshewana On The Road,’ in its thirty-first year, is an American touchstone amongst outdoor markets,” said Village of Lynwood Mayor Jada D. Curry. “We highly anticipate and welcome the show and shoppers alike to our village and the Chicago Southland.”

With its 100,000 square feet of event space, Ho-Chunk Southland Center will comfortably stage hundreds of vendors’ booths. The facility predominantly stages elite sporting events as it is the largest indoor basketball and volleyball facility in Illinois.

The hours of operation will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, November 11, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, November 12. Parking is free. Tickets are available at the door or online at shipshewanaontheroad.com.

The Southland Center is located at 10 Southland Drive in Lynwood.
