Bishop Noll Drama to present The Play that Goes Wrong

HAMMOND, Ind. (October 28, 2023) – Doors falling out of their jams, actors forgetting their lines and missed light cues might sound like a theatre failure but it’s all part of the fun for Bishop Noll’s Drama Club this November.

The club will present the comedy The Play That Goes Wrong at 7:30 p.m. November 17 and 18, and 2:30 p.m. November 19. The play within a play is full of nonstop laughs. Watch as these Bishop Noll students take the roles of a local community theater group known as the Cornley Drama Society. The society attempts to put on a murder mystery but the show seems plagued by accidental disasters.

This 1920s whodunit has everything you never wanted in a show — an unconscious leading lady, a corpse that can’t play dead, and actors who trip over everything (including their lines). Nevertheless, the accident-prone actors battle against all odds to make it through to their final curtain call, with hilarious consequences. Part Monty Python, part Sherlock Holmes, this Olivier Award–winning comedy is a global phenomenon that’s guaranteed to make you laugh.

All shows are in the Bishop Noll Auditorium, 1519 Hoffman Street, in Hammond. Enter through Door C. Tickets are now for sale, and cost $10 if purchased in advance online.

The show stars junior Jara Zamora as Christine/Inspector Carter, senior Emiliano Soto as Robert/Thomas Colleymore, senior Iris Romero as Sandra/Florence Colleymore, junior Joaquin Martinez as Max/Cecil Haversham, junior Maisie Wragg as Denise/Perkins, senior Taylor Adams as Annie the Stage Manager, senior Mathieu Jadrych as Jonathan/Charles Haversham, and junior Jonathan Lindsey as Trever the Tech Guy. Aniyah Joseph, Taylor Holland, Jaeda Battle, Bradley Dorsey, and Andres Torres-Cruz co-star as the Cornley Stage Crew.
