Roberta A. Grant, nee Stier, age 87 of Lansing, IL, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, October 4, 2023. She is survived by her daughter Marsha (Gregory) Bultema; grandchildren Daniel Bultema, Jeffrey Bultema, and Kayla (Daniel Yates) Bultema; sister Phyllis Markus; brother Robert (Lynn) Stier; brother-in-law Eugene LaFleur; many nieces and nephews; and her Benny’s Place family. Roberta was preceded in death by her husband (her “ever lovin’”) Ronald Grant, son Robert Grant, parents Robert and Lydia Stier, sisters Dolores Howard and Georgia Farwell, brother John Stier, father and mother-in-law Arthur and Elsie Grant, and sister-in-law Judith LaFleur.
A funeral service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2505 Indiana Ave, Lansing, IL, on Saturday October 21st, at 11:00 am. A celebration of Bert’s life will be held at Benny’s Place, 2549 Glenwood Lansing Rd, Lynwood, IL, between 12 and 4 on October 21st.
Bert loved to bowl, she bowled most of her adult life and attended many tournaments with her bowling friends. She enjoyed golfing with Ron and her friends at Lansing Country Club; She achieved two “hole in one” shots — she was so proud of this. Recently she was happiest spending time with Marsha and friends at Benny’s – she was simply “Momma Bert” to so many!
