LANSING, Ill. (July 4, 2023) – By July 4, construction barriers had been removed from the west entrance — now the only entrance — to the Lansing Woods parking lot. The project appeared to be completed several weeks ago, but the rope closure was not opened for vehicle traffic until July.
The lot is approximately half the size it used to be, but it still provides 58 parking spots plus 3 handicap-accessible spots.
The east half of the parking lot was torn out, filled in with dirt, and planted with grass.

Lansing Woods is part of the Forest Preserve District of Cook County. It is open year-round from sunrise to sunset.
