Monday, April 10, 2023, at 7:15 p.m. via Zoom

Information provided by the Sauk-Calumet Group of the Sierra Club

CHICAGO, Ill. (March 31, 2023) – Sierra Club’s Sauk-Calumet Group will host a “Climate Simulator Tryout” with Andy Panelli of Citizen’s Climate Education, on Monday, April 10, at 7:15 pm, via the Zoom online platform.

The program will allow attendees to submit actions to the simulator that might affect climate change. The simulator will then take those suggested actions and determine how large an effect they might have on climate at scale.

The meeting is an opportunity for attendees to find out how their own ideas and actions might affect the total climate.

Panelli is a group leader for Citizens’ Climate Education, a non-profit, non-partisan grassroots organization dedicated to educating the public on smart climate solutions. Panelli has been engaged in environmental advocacy efforts for more than 2 decades, with the last 15 years focused on climate. He has spent the last 6 years working with citizen lobbying groups encouraging Congress to act on climate change, and he frequently meets with US Congressional Representatives and Senate staff on the subject. Panelli has been trained on the MIT/Sloan Climate Simulator, attaining the status of “Climate Ambassador.”

To join the program please RSVP to Lois Lauer or Ann Baskerville:

Please RSVP by Friday, 4/7/23. Lois or Ann will send you a link to join the Zoom meeting.

All meetings are free and open both to Sierra Club members and the general public.
