Thank you, March supporters — and welcome

79 readers give for the first time

by Melanie Jongsma, Publisher

LANSING, Ill. (April 2, 2021) – March was a busy month in Lansing—and at The Lansing Journal. Local election season, ongoing property tax reporting, and new developments in our schools and churches kept our journalists busy. And putting together a March print edition required extra investment from advertisers, supporters, reporters, and staff.

So it was encouraging for us to see new March supporters join our efforts this month. The broader our support base is, the broader and deeper and better our coverage can be.

All over the country, newspapers are shrinking, or merging with larger media, or closing their doors for good. In Lansing, our community newspaper is getting stronger month by month. That’s only possible because of the local businesses who choose to advertise with us and the local readers who choose to support us.

Thank you to the more than 199 people listed below (some are listed as couples), who made contributions to The Lansing Journal in March. And a special welcome to the 79 new March supporters who invested in local news for the first time last month.

Thank you, March supporters
