Thornton Township announces changes to Christmas toy and food drive

Applications for program accepted Oct. 19 – Oct. 23

SOUTH HOLLAND, Ill. (October 15, 2020) – Thornton Township has announced the dates, as well as some changes, to its Christmas toy and food drive this year.

Applications to be a recipient of this year’s toy and food drive will be accepted from October 19–23 by logging onto www.thorntontownship.com or by calling 708-596-6040×3205.

Applicants must be Thornton Township residents and must have the following documentation in order to pick up toy and food items:

  • Photo ID: Current IL drivers license or IL State ID
  • Proof of residence (full list here)
  • Proof of last 30 days of income (full list here)
  • Birth Certificate for each member of household: only children born after January 1, 2007 qualify for the program.

Toys and food will not be distributed without the above information. The program is based on income and Thornton Township residence only.
