LANSING, Ill. (May 30, 2020) – Village of Lansing elected officials and essential department heads will be meeting in person on Tuesday, June 2, while observing social distancing. Members of the public who prefer not to join the meeting in person are invited to view the meetings via the livestream links below. The meetings begin at 7:00pm. Face coverings are required for all who attend in person.

These are new items brought to the Board for discussion. Prior to the meeting, Board members receive a Board packet that contains documents and background information relevant to the items on this agenda. They review the Board packet in order to be able to discuss the agenda items.
Virtual public comment
Members of the public who read the meeting agendas and want to comment on the proceedings may do so by emailing [email protected] while the meeting is in session. Per the Village, “Only emails received during that time will be read into the record and included in the official minutes. Emails outside the actual meeting session time will be evaluated by Village staff and answered (if necessary) on a case-by-case basis. Those interested in making public comment should include their name in the email but are not required to give an address unless they choose to do so.”

To remotely view the June 2 Village of Lansing Board meetings, residents may use the YouTube link provided for a live stream of the proceedings beginning at 7:00pm. The Village typically posts a direct link to the live stream on the Village of Lansing Facebook page prior to the start of the meeting.
Committee of the Whole and Village Board meetings typically begin at 7:00pm on the first and third Tuesdays of the month at the Police and Court Complex (Lansing Police Department), 2710 170th Street, Lansing. The public is welcome to attend, as long as social distancing and facial covering regulations are observed.
Open Meetings Act
The Open Meetings Act requires that “An agenda for each regular meeting shall be posted at the principal office of the public body and at the location where the meeting is to be held at least 48 hours in advance of the holding of the meeting.” The Village of Lansing posts agendas and minutes from public meetings in the “Documents” section of their website, and copies are usually emailed to The Lansing Journal as well.
