OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. (June 17, 2019) – Thornton Township and The Pentecostal Church of Homewood-Flossmoor will partner together this Sunday in a Family Day event from 5:00–7:00pm. Because of the anticipated crowd, the event will be hosted at Iron Oaks, 20000 Western Avenue in Olympia Fields.

The Township and the church will be serving free BBQ, and organized games and family fellowship will be offered. The Township is hoping to make Family Day a monthly event on the last or second-to-last Sunday of each month.

“We enjoy bringing people together in Thornton Township because we believe in people forming bonds,” said Ernst Lamothe Jr., Thornton Township communication manager. “Our motto is People Helping People and we are proud to work with TPC church to bring this event to the southland. We are asking people to bring their families to enjoy some free food, worship, kid-friendly events, and time to just enjoy each other.”
