Obituaries: an important service for a community newspaper

Now available in The Lansing Journal

LANSING, Ill. (August 28, 2018) – We heard from several readers who told us the only reason they keep their Times subscription is to read the obituaries. Obituaries are important news within a community, and they provide information so that community members can show support to the family.

The Lansing Journal has begun working with area funeral homes to publish obituaries with photos in both our print and our online editions. As we receive information from the funeral home, we publish it online right away at no charge. We can also run the information in our upcoming monthly print issue for $100, creating a keepsake remembrance for family members.

To ensure your family member’s obituary is included in the monthly print edition of The Lansing Journal, arrangements can be made with your funeral home or directly with The Lansing Journal:

Published obituaries can be perused by clicking on the “Obituaries” category in the right sidebar.
