Health Care Industry Night coming to South Suburban College

SOUTH HOLLAND, Ill. (November 13, 2019) – South Suburban College (SSC) is hosting a Health Care Industry Night on Monday, November 18, from 5:00–8:00pm in the college’s Performing Arts Center. The event will include informational sessions and a panel discussion about SSC’s Nursing and Community Health Worker Programs, as well as its new Patient Care Technician Program. Industry leaders and SSC instructors will be on hand to answer questions about the career outlook and curriculum.

SSC recently announced its selection for a Workforce Equity Grant through the Illinois Community College Board, which includes funding and support services for students in several new in-demand programs including Patient Care Technician (PCT). The PCT program will be offered during the Spring 2020 Semester and will provide stackable credentials in EKG, Basic Nursing Assistant Training Program (BNATP), and Phlebotomy.

This event is sponsored by SSC’s Career Development Center, Allied Health & Career Programs, and the Department of Nursing. There is no fee to attend and refreshments will be provided.
