Lighthouse Community Church holds outdoor service

LANSING, Ill. (August 7, 2020) – For the first time in four months, the Lighthouse Community Church family gathered in person—Sunday, August 2, they held an outdoor service under a large canopy in the spacious front lawn.

The church’s Facebook event for the service reminded members to “stay home if you aren’t feeling well, recently had cold symptoms or are simply taking things slowly,” and Ashley Thompson—a nurse and a Lighthouse member—checked congregants’ temperatures as they approached the gathering.

The church was blessed with beautiful weather for the outdoor service, which included music, prayer, a sermon, and plenty of space for social distancing. Approximately 50 people attended the gathering.
