LANSING, Ill. (March 30, 2018) – The TF South baseball season opens in April, and the first varsity home game is scheduled for April 24, against Oak Forest. First United Methodist Church, located just east of the field, is offering baseball fans a unique viewing experience. Their rooftop is 1,000 square feet and provides an excellent view of the diamond. The church has also converted one of the upstairs classrooms into a “skybox,” with the game telecast on closed circuit TV.

Free hot dogs, popcorn, lemonade, hot chocolate, and coffee are offered to viewers. And people who are less interested in baseball have the option of playing ping pong, foosball, and bags instead.

Following the game, the baseball team will stop over for a meet-and-greet with fans. Lansing Mayor Patty Eidam is expected to be among the rooftop viewers.

Door #8 opens at 3:30pm on April 24. Rain date for the game is Tuesday, May 1. First United Methodist says, “We invite the local high school students, faculty, band, and booster club to watch the varsity baseball games in the spring from our rooftop.”

First United Methodist Church is located at 18420 Burnham Avenue in Lansing. Call 708-474-1144 for more information.
