LANSING, Ill. (October 26, 2023) – If a unique present for someone special is what you are looking for, Every Good Gift / Worldwide Shirts just might be the right spot.
“Personalized gifts is what we do the most of,” said Linus Clark, who co-owns the business with his cousin, Judy Rock.
“Judy was Every Good Gift and I was Worldwide Shirts, and we came together about ten years ago,” Clark said.
Custom shirts are the store’s best-seller, and all of the printing is done on site at 3516 Ridge Road.
A variety of “good gifts”
“A lot of it is families doing family reunion shirts,” Clark said.
The store also prints shirts for schools and for those who want to memorialize a passed loved one.
“We also do gift baskets, custom gift baskets,” Clark said.
Those can include such items as bottles of wine, and custom towels and shirts.
Pictures of family members or other loved ones can be put on ceramic coffee mugs using a sublimation process that Clark said makes the photos not lose their color.
Custom pillows can also be made.
“The pillows are our newest item,” Clark said. “These are made from a picture of your pet.”
Clark said not many places provide this service, where a picture of a pet can be placed onto a pillow that serves as a lasting remembrance.
Direct-to-garment printing
Clark said one thing different about his business is that it will print just one shirt upon request instead of requiring a large order.
“Our printing is all done on the latest type of equipment,” Clark said. “It’s called direct to garment. It prints all of the colors at one time.”
Prices depend in part on how soon a person needs their item, but T-shirts typically cost about $14 or $15.
Worldwide
Clark explained that the name Worldwide Shirts came from the fact the business had brokers all over the world.
“We used to do 25, 35,000 shirts out of this place right here, a year,” Clark said.
He said shipping internationally is quite expensive and the the cost grew too high continue that. A map in the store with push pins indicates some of the 180 countries to which the store used to ship its shirts. It still does business throughout the country via its website, www.worldwide-shirts.com, where hours of operation can be found.
Rock worked for 34 years as a teacher and counselor in Community High School District 218 but now focuses on the store she shares with her cousin.
Custom embroidery is another large part of the business, and Rock is currently working on embroidering The Lord’s Prayer in different languages.
She said the variety of products the store offers and the way customers are treated is what helps the business stand apart.
“[Customers] are important to us and we hope that we’ll get repeat business, and if we don’t and they have a complaint, we’ll fix it,” Rock said.
