The Lansing Journal journeys: SpaceX launch

Submitted by Cathy White

Cathy White and her family gathered in LaMesa, California, on April 6 to watch the 7:25 p.m. launch of the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket — and they took The Lansing Journal along.

“We watched the SpaceX Falcon 9 launch on a hill overlooking San Diego,” wrote Cathy White, pictured here with her grandkids Mila and Logan White. (Photo: Ron White)

According to Wikipedia, “Falcon 9 is a partially reusable medium-lift launch vehicle that can carry cargo and crew into Earth orbit, designed, manufactured and launched by American aerospace company SpaceX. It can also be used as an expendable heavy-lift launch vehicle.”

Cathy and Ron White drove from Lansing to San Diego to spend Easter with family. While there, they took in the eclipse as well as the SpaceX rocket launch.

Before documenting her Journeys photo, Cathy took a shot focusing on SpaceX against a post-sunset sky. (Photo: Cathy White)
