The Lansing Journal journeys: U.P. adventure with the grands

-

submitted by Wilma Straaman

Wilma Straatman proves that it’s easy to make any journey a Journal Journey. Before even leaving home for adventures in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula (U.P.), she snapped a quick photo with the March print edition of The Lansing Journal —

U.P. Adventure
Wilma Straatman pauses in the driveway at the start of a “U.P. adventure with my Illinois grands: Ivy, Sam, and Phoebe Rose. Picture taken by my youngest sister MaryEllen Bloem.” (Photo: MaryEllen Bloem)

Wilma also managed to add some Java to her journey, grabbing a picture of the Journal Java Chip ice cream poster when she stopped at Gayety’s for a takeout order of Journal Java Chip.

U.P. adventure
Though Wilma did not include herself in the photo, she did write, “Introduced my Grand Rapids, Michigan, sister to the delicious taste of Journal Java Chip ice cream.” So Wilma gets extra credit for sharing Journal Java Chip with someone from out-of-town. (Photo: Wilma Straatman)
