Journal Java Journeys: The Zaragoza sisters

-

A new twist on our long-running feature, Lansing Journal Journeys

LANSING, Ill. (May 9, 2023) – The Zaragoza family happened to be enjoying ice cream on the back patio at Gayety’s Chocolates & Ice Cream (3306 Ridge Road) at the same time Journal Publisher Melanie Jongsma was there. Young Silvia Zaragoza, one of three sisters, noticed Jongsma’s resemblance to the poster in the window. The girls struck up a conversation about ice cream and coffee, which naturally led to a photo in front of the Gayety’s window and underneath the Journal Java Chip poster.

Persuaded by Jongsma’s claim that Journal Java Chip is the best ice cream on the Gayety’s menu, the girls’ mom, Brenda, agreed to give it a try during a future visit, though she is partial to Gayety’s homemade chocolate ice cream.
