Information provided by the Sauk-Calumet Group of the Sierra Club
CHICAGO, Ill. (May 2, 2023) – Sandhill Cranes lover Jean Catania will share her enthusiasm and fascination with these remarkable birds at the May meeting of the Sierra Club. Through photographs and informative video clips, Catania will show crane behaviors and habitats.
Catania has followed her love for cranes from the Jasper-Pulaski Fish and Wildlife Area in Indiana to the Crane Foundation in Baraboo, Wisconsin, to the Platte River in Nebraska. She will share information about where and when to best view the cranes and how to learn more about them.
This will be the last meeting of the Sauk-Calumet Group of the Sierra Club until September. “We spend June–August outside hiking somewhere,” explained member Gregory Ott.
