Information provided by South Shore Arts

MUNSTER, Ind. (February 22, 2023) – South Shore Arts has announced a studio open house on Sunday, March 12 from 1 – 4 p.m.

The public is invited to tour South Shore Arts classrooms and studios, watch live ceramic and painting demonstrations, and participate in a printmaking workshop. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about spring art classes and summer camps. During the open house, the South Shore Arts Gift Shop — which has an assortment of unique gifts, art by local artists, handmade jewelry, and more — will be open.

In the Bachman Gallery, the exhibit “Sense and Sensibility: Poetry in Painting,” features artists Bradley Biancardi, Ellen Greene, Tyrue “Slang” Jones, Nina Rizzo, William Staples, Ann Toebbe, Pedro Veléz, and Gabriel Villa. These eight artists’ work expresses the notion that painting is simply drawing, color, and design that enlivens the mind, spirit, and soul and illuminates life’s majestic and mournful beauty.

South Shore Arts is located at The Center for Visual and Performing Arts at 1040 Ridge Road in Munster, Indiana. The studio open house is a free event open to the public. For more information contact Special Events Coordinator, Cara Schmidt at [email protected].
