Local Voices: A Christmas poem

Life so freely given to
save us all from death.
He chose a poor existence to
bestow riches beyond wealth.
~~~
A shining Star so lowly is
better seen at night.
Then one day nailed upon a cross
to illuminate It’s light.
~~~
With voices singing praises;
all nations to employ,
The Author and the Finisher is
who imparts this Joy.
~~~
The One who reigns supreme on high;
my sin a threat no more,
born way back then in Bethlehem
on a stable floor.
~~~
God sent his Son far removed
from all the world did offer,
and there in peaceful meekness lay
a Love that matched no other.
~~~
This Gift that keeps on giving;
perfection of our faith,
is now in flesh appearing
Lo, this Christmas Day.
Mary P.
A Blessed Christmas and a Hopeful New Year to one and all, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
