LANSING, Ill. (November 26, 2022) – Starting Saturday, December 3, Fox Pointe will make its annual transformation into a winter wonderland, complete with a forest of holiday trees decorated by the local community. The Village hopes its third year of tree displays will draw even more sponsors and visitors to Fox Pointe this holiday season.
Sponsoring, decorating, viewing
Tree sponsors have until November 28 to bring their registration fee of $50 to the Lansing Municipal Center and secure their Scotch Pine tree. Participants can drop off their fee anytime from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. on weekdays.
Trees will be set up by the Village at Fox Pointe, and can be decorated from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. on November 28 – December 2. The Village will provide lights for every tree, and no additional lighting is allowed. Also provided is a sign identifying the sponsor of each tree.
Starting after the Village’s tree lighting ceremony on December 3, the trees will be on display every day from December 4–30, with the exception on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, when Fox Pointe is closed. The hours for viewing are 3–8 p.m. on these dates, except for Saturday, December 10, and Saturday, December 17, when the hours will be extended to 12–8 p.m.
Tree-lighting and Santa’s arrival
On December 3, Fox Pointe will open to the public at 5 p.m. Shortly after, the Village will light up the trees around the pavilion and the central Village tree.
Shortly after the tree-lighting, Santa will be arriving via firetruck to greet the assembled guests before moving into the Santa House for the night, where he will greet and hear requests from kids.
Santa House hours
Located immediately north of the Fox Pointe stage, Santa House will be open to the public on the following dates:
- Saturday, December 3, 6–8 p.m. (after tree lighting and Santa’s arrival)
