Featured speakers Mayor Patty Eidam, LTC Dianna Hilson share their experiences as women veterans

LANSING, Ill. (November 10, 2022) – Each year in Lansing, the Lansing Veterans Memorial Ceremonial Honor Guard (LVMCHG) observes Veterans Day with a service on the Sunday before November 11. This year’s service, held again at the Lansing Veterans Memorial, specifically honored women veterans.

Lansing Mayor Patty Eidam is an Army veteran, and she shared how the military prepared her for a career in law enforcement and local government.

The guest speaker was LTC (Ret) Dianna Hilson, whose bio as a military nurse includes humanitarian missions in Central America, response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks, service in the Iraq – Enduring Freedom conflict, and more. Hilson is a member of National Women Veterans United.
