LANSING, Ill. (October 31, 2022) – Early voting began for the November 8 Gubernatorial General Election last week, and Lansing residents will again need to leave Lansing to vote before November 8.
Early voting locations near Lansing
Though voters will need to report to their designated polling place if voting on November 8, early voters have their choice of any Cook County early voting location. The list of locations nearest Lansing is included below:
Calumet City Public Library
- 600 Manistee Avenue, Calumet City
- Open from 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. on October 31 – November 4, and November 7
- Open from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. on November 5
- Open from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on November 6
Thornton Township Town Hall
- 333 E. 162nd Street, South Holland
- Open from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. on October 31 – November 5, and November 7
- Open from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on November 6
Harvey City Hall
- 15320 Broadway Avenue, Harvey
- Open from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. on October 31 – November 5, and November 7
- Open from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on November 6
Prairie State College

Voter registration
Local voters can check their voter registration status at ova.elections.il.gov.
The deadlines for online voter registration and mail-in registration have already passed. Voters can, however, register when they arrive for early voting or on Election Day.
The requirements for voting are below:
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must have been a resident of the voting precinct at least 30 days prior to Election Day
For those registering in person, the following documentation is needed:
- Two forms of identification, with at least one showing a current address.
- Acceptable forms of identification include:
- Passport or Military ID
- Driver’s License or State ID card
- College/University/School/Work ID
- Vehicle registration card
- Lease, mortgage or deed to home
- Credit or debit card
- Social Security, Medicare or Medicaid card
- Insurance card
- Civic, union or professional membership card
- LINK/Public Aid/Department of Human Services card
- Illinois FOID card
