LANSING, Ill. (October 17, 2022) – “I am publishing a coloring book called In the Neighborhood,” wrote Lansing artist Paul Orich. “It’s now at 12 pages. Going to add 8 more for the run.”

Orich took photos of a couple of the coloring pages to email to The Lansing Journal. He calls these “Lansing-esque homes.”

Orich spent 30 years as an art teacher at Harper and Crane High Schools in Chicago and later Wentworth Junior High School in Calumet City. In 2012, he earned designation as an Illinois Artisan in Folk Art for his work in creating art pieces from cardboard. A sampling of his colored pencil artwork was recently on display at Bloomin Barn in Highland, Indiana, and his coloring book will be available there as well.
