Dorn Jabaay, age 90, of Lansing, IL, went home to his Lord and Savior on Friday, September 23, 2022. Beloved husband of Phyllis Jabaay, nee Rispens. Loving father of James (Patti) Jabaay, Linda (Doug) Sluiter, Keith Jabaay, and Denise (David) Poole. Devoted grandfather of James (Toni) Jabaay Jr., Joel (Courtney) Jabaay, Bethanni (Brandon) Buikema, Candice (Steve) Van Hout, Ashley (David) Huitsing, Braden Sluiter, Austin Sluiter, Max Poole, and Henry Poole and 12 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of the late Henrietta Ulm, late Richard (late Laura) Jabaay, late Neil (late Walita) Jabaay, late Ron (Carol) Jabaay, and Janice (late John) Tillema. Kind uncle of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Peter and Mary Jabaay.
Dorn was a U.S. Army Veteran. He founded Jabaay Motors in 1954 in Munster before moving the business to Lansing. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
Visitation Tuesday, September 27, 2022, from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. directly at Bethel Christian Reformed Church 3500 Glenwood Lansing Road Lansing, IL, with Rev. Dan Bloesch officiating. Interment Munster Christian Reformed Cemetery – Munster, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Christ the King Presbyterian Church – Naples, FL; Illiana Christian High School; or Crown Point Christian School.
