First place for both boys and girls cross country; wins for swimming, volleyball

LANSING, Ill. (September 22, 2022) — Below are the most recent scores for the TF South Red Wolves:

Girls Tennis

Monday, September 19

Opponents: Lincoln-Way East High School

Result: The Red Wolves lost all five of their matches

Tuesday, September 20

Opponents: Hillcrest High School

Result: TFS beat Hillcrest 3-1

Nancy Bob-Nwojo won her singles match, and pairs Azuri Akbar and Elizabeth Alvarez, and Emily Cabrera and Kaylyn Imala won their doubles matches.

TF United Girls Swimming

Tuesday, September 20

Opponent: Bremen High School

Result: TFU bested Bremen 87-38

Sophomore Aaliyah Harb led the way for the Red Wolves, winning both the 500-yard freestyle and the 200-yard individual medley.

Boys Soccer

Tuesday, September 20

Opponent: Evergreen Park High School

Result: TF United beat Evergreen Park 4-0

Giovanni Melgoza scored two goals, both assisted by Benjamin Gonzalez. Gonzalez also added a goal assisted by Jonathon Hernandez. Fawaz Olarinde also scored a goal, which was assisted by Daniel Gonzalez .

Thursday, September 22

Opponent: Oak Lawn Community High School

Result: TF United fell to Oak Lawn 5-1

Giovanni Melgoza scored the Red Wolves’ lone goal, assisted by Benjamin Gonzalez. Gonzalez.

TFU is now 5-6-2 on the season and 2-3-2 in conference.

Volleyball

Tuesday, September 20

Opponent: Hillcrest High School

Result: TF South beat Hillcrest in two (25-9, 25-13)

Kyndall Jackson had six kills, Breanna Lopez went 10/10 in digs, and Raquel Murphy had four kills alongside 13 service points.

TFS is now 1-5 in conference.

Girls Cross Country

Tuesday, September 20

Opponents: Richards High School, Hillcrest High School

Result: The Red Wolves took first place (23) over Hillcrest (33) and Richards (N/A)

The race in the hot and humid conditions was hosted at Erfert Park in Lansing, TF South’s last home meet of the season. In addition to the win, the team also celebrated seniors Austin Hewes, Gavin Cottrill, Adam Castellanos, and Malcolm Richardson.
