Illiana Christian student named National Merit Semifinalist

DYER, Ind. (September 14, 2022) – On Wednesday, September 14, Illiana Christian High School Senior Ryan Smith was named a National Merit Scholar Semifinalist. Ryan earned this honor by scoring in the top percentage in Indiana on his 2022 PSAT test. Less than one percent of U.S. high school students score high enough to become semifinalists.

Finalists will be announced in February of 2023 after another round of testing. 2,500 of the finalists will be awarded National Merit Scholarships. These will begin to be announced in April of 2023.

Ryan Smith is very active in the Illiana community. He has been involved in theater all four years, both on the stage and on the technical end. He has also been a member of the robotics team and this year he is a member of the Chapel Committee, Chamber singers, Praise Crowd, and a member of the Spire (yearbook) staff.

Before coming to Illiana, Ryan attended Highland Christian School in Highland, Indiana. Ryan and his family live in Dyer, Indiana.

Illiana Christian High School enrolls approximately 500 students and is located at 10920 Calumet Avenue, Dyer, IN.
