Lansing and Thornton Township to host property tax workshop Tuesday night

LANSING, Ill. (September 12, 2022) – The Village of Lansing and Thornton Township are collaborating to bring a workshop on property taxes to the Lansing Public Library on Tuesday, September 13 at 6:30 p.m.

Lansing Mayor Patty Eidam will be present at the event as will Thornton Township Assessor Cassandra Elston. Mario Reed, an attorney and Cook County Assessor’s Office representative, will also be present.

The workshop will provide residents information about their second installment property tax bills, as well as property tax exemptions. Another topic at the workshop will be how to prepare and file an appeal to the Cook County Assessor’s Office and the Cook County Board of Review.
