After two years of virtual performances, the singing and dancing showcase of Mexican history and culture is back

LANSING, Ill. (August 23, 2022) – After multiple cancellations and virtual events, México en el Corazón will make its in-person return to Lansing on Saturday, September 3. México en el Corazón (“Mexico in the Heart”) is a free event featuring music, dance, and folk songs of Mexico.
The show first made its way to Lansing in 2017, with a performance at Memorial Junior High School, featuring two hours of music and dance. In 2018 and 2019, México en el Corazón returned with performances in the TF South High School auditorium. The 2019 tour consisted of 17 locations throughout the United States, including Lansing.
Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, live performances were halted in 2020. Organizers of the show offered virtual performances that could be viewed on Facebook (México en el Corazón). In 2021, uncertainty surrounding the COVID resurgence made planning large-scale events difficult, leading to another year of virtual performances.
México en el Corazón returns to in-person performances this year, again taking place in the TF South auditorium. People from all races, ages, and backgrounds are invited to attend the free performance, featuring dances and music originating from across Mexico and beautiful, traditional garb representing different areas of the country.
The event will take place on Saturday, September 3 at 11 a.m. TF South is located at 18500 Burnham Avenue in Lansing.
