Information provided by Smits Funeral Home

Paul R. Bobo, Jr.Paul R. Bobo Jr., age 91, of St. John, IN, formerly of Park Forest, IL, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 13, 2022. Beloved husband of the late Sally M. Bobo, nee Martin. Loving father of Scott (Cynthia) Bobo, Susan Bobo, Paula (Paul) Hallenbeck, and the late Brad (Nichole (Patrick) Bobo-Greenwell). Proud grandfather of Troy Bobo, Bryan (Trisha) Bobo, Aubrey (John) Clements, Brianne (Jeremy) Kersten, Susan May (Brendan Eby) Wiltrakis, Amelia (Austin) Gray, John Hallenbeck, and the late Adam Bobo; great-grandfather of Madeline and Korbin Bobo, Calliope and Finn Bobo, Jackson, Logan and Lincoln Clements, Penelope, Ryall, and Delilah Kersten, Lennon Gray, and Ryan Eby. Dear brother of Blaire Bobo, Ben Bobo, and the late Ann Carr. Preceded in death by his parents Paul Sr. and Margaret Bobo.

Paul was an icon of strength, faith, and generosity of spirit and self. He always put his family and his faith first, inspiring others toward living with goodness, honesty, and love. There was nothing he would not do to support his family; his greatest joy came from being generous with his time, wisdom, resources, and thoughtfulness. Paul was stately and disciplined; his benevolence could be sensed with even a casual introduction. His dry and witty sense of humor could catch you by surprise and any conversation with him always led to feeling loved, understood, and supported.
