LANSING, Ill. (July 13, 2022) – In an area of Lan-Oak Park where local residents once served tennis balls to each other, they can now serve volleyballs, as the Lan-Oak Park District has finished construction on three sand volleyball courts.
The new courts are ready for use at Lansing’s largest and oldest park, located at the corner of 180th and Arcadia. The process for constructing the courts was delayed from last year, and hit its stride this spring before being recently completed.
In addition to the new courts, new paths have been created that lead up to the courts. The lighting fixtures that illuminated the old tennis courts have remained for use by the new volleyball courts.

The three courts are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and players must bring their own ball to play.
