LANSING, Ill. (June 2, 2022) – The print issue that Lansing residents received a few days ago is special for a couple of reasons. First, we are not in print as often as we used to be, so each time we are, it’s special. Second, The Lansing Journal celebrates a five-year anniversary this year, and it’s meaningful to be able to mark that with a really well done print edition.

This print issue includes 22 articles written by nine local journalists. Those articles are also being published online, but many appeared in print first — and until our team meeting, I didn’t realize how gratifying it would be for our writers to have a tangible product that showcases their hard work. They were really overjoyed to receive it.

As nice as that is, the real measurement is readership. And several readers have told me already that they read the print edition “cover to cover.” That’s gratifying too.

That kind of feedback makes all the long days of reporting, editing, ad sales, printing arrangements, delivery coordination, and miscellaneous details completely worthwhile. Thank you.

We are deeply grateful for all our readers, online and in print. And each month we are especially grateful for the people who make this local newspaper possible by actually investing in it financially. Their gifts empower our local journalists to report our community’s stories. Their gifts ensure that those stories are published — in print as well as pixels — and delivered every single day.
