Betty J. AlexanderBetty J. Alexander, nee Wondaal, age 97, passed away May 17, 2022, in Lawton, MI. Beloved wife of the late George Alexander. Loving mother of Nancy (late Richard) Korzyniewski and Joan (Dan) Fennema. Cherished grandmother of five; great-grandmother of 10. Dear sister of Doris (late Carl) Bussema and Martin (Norma) Wondaal. Betty was preceded in death by her siblings Evelyn Laning, Janet Buikema, Harold “Mike” Wondaal, and June Schaaf.

Betty was born in Chicago. Before moving to Lawton, Michigan in recent years, she lived in Worth and Beecher, Illinois. A child of the depression and a WWII bride in 1947, she left school at about 12 years old to care for her three younger siblings after their mother died. She excelled at this and remained the caretaker throughout her life for anyone who needed help. She was a hardworking, practical, and independent woman, driving a car well into her 90s. She excelled at home decorating and landscaping projects. She was a woman of faith and of genuine concern for her family. A life well lived, you’ve earned your rest…we’ll meet again.

Betty’s interment will be Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery – Elwood, IL next to her husband George, immediately followed by a luncheon.
