Red Wolves take first at boys track invitational, softball beats division rivals

LANSING, Ill. (May 11, 2022) — The Boys Track and Field team beat 10 other teams on Saturday to walk away with a first-place finish. Red Wolves softball also impressed, beating division rivals Bremen and TF North.

TFS Boys Track and Field

May 7

Meet: Carlin Nalley Invite in Lisle

Result: TFS took first place out of 11 teams.

Top finishers:

  • Ryan Coleman: 1st place in the 100m, 200m
  • 4×400 Anthony Listenbee, Jaylon Gardner, Navonte Arnold and Mekhi Tompkins: 1st place
  • 4×100 Jamauri McNabb, Ryan Coleman, Nazheer Moore and Caleb Dussard: 1st place
  • Ernest Temple: 1st place in Long Jump

The team competes in the conference tournament on Thursday in Lemont. The team is hoping for its fifth straight conference championship.

TFS Baseball

May 7

Opponent: Reavis High School

Result: TFS lost to Reavis 6-5.

South was led by Jake Stachelski, who went 3-3 with a double and a run.

May 9

Opponent: Oak Forest High School

Result: TFS lost to Oak Forest 9-4.

South was led by Khanon Gresham, who went 2-3 with a walk, RBI, and a run scored. The Red Wolves were also led by Jake Stachelski, who went 2-4 with an RBI.

May 10

Opponent: Oak Forest High School

Result: TFS lost to Oak Forest 11-9.

In the loss, Jake Stachelski went 4-4, with a walk and two runs scored. Jayden Clark went 2-3 with a home run, two RBIs and a run scored. Jayden Armstrong went 2-3.

TF United Boys Tennis

May 9

Opponent: Oak Forest High School

Result: TF United lost to Oak Forest 5-0.

May 10

Opponent: Lemont High School

Result: TF United lost to Lemont 5-0.

TFS Softball

May 9

Opponent: Bremen High School

Result: TF South beat Bremen 9-8

Senior Mya Durr went 4-4 in the game with a home run and three runs scored. Sophomore Emily Dominiak went 2-3 with a double and two runs scored. Sophomore Yulissa Macudzinski went 2-3 with two RBIs. Jaila Martinez threw seven innings of three-run baseball for the Red Wolves.

TFS came from behind in the bottom of the 7th inning when Durr hit a home run to left center field to tie the game, and Martinez hit a single to left to score the winning run.

May 10

Opponent: TF North High School

Result: South beat North 16-0

Mya Durr went 2-3 with three runs scored. Yulissa Macudzinski went 1-3 with three RBIs. Jaila Martinez threw a complete game shoutout with five strikeouts.

    • Carl Dorris, you are only partly correct. While you might always be a Rebel, the current classes at TF South are Red Wolves — and the boys on the track team are leaders of the pack!
