Napleton dealerships running diaper drive for local families

Information provided by the Ed Napleton Auto Group of Illinois

CHICAGO, Ill. (April 26, 2022) – With diaper costs rising rapidly due to supply chain issues and worker shortages across the country, Ed Napleton Auto Group of Illinois, including River Oaks Honda and River Oaks Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Lansing, has launched a diaper drive in partnership with nonprofit March of Dimes to help area families make ends meet.

Through Saturday, April 30, employees, customers, and neighbors are invited to drop off new packages of diapers in all baby sizes. Unopened diaper packages can be dropped off at any Illinois Napleton dealership between 10 am – 6 pm Monday through Friday and 10 am – 6 pm on Saturday (closed Sunday). River Oaks Honda is located at 17220 Torrence Avenue in Lansing, while River Oaks Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram is located at 17225 Torrence.

In addition, online donations toward the purchase of new diapers can be made at marchforbabies.org.

“Most of us at Napleton are parents or have family members with children,” explained Susie Staskie, Controller at Ed Napleton Auto Group. “We can relate to the high cost of baby products which can be a hardship for struggling families. It was a natural fit to partner with March of Dimes to help make life a little more affordable for our Illinois neighbors.”

According to the National Diaper Bank Network, a typical family spends between $75 and $100 a month to keep one baby clean. Making matters worse for families, consulting firm Alix-Partners found the cost of diapers rose by 12% at the start of the pandemic and federal programs like Medicare and WIC do not cover diapers.
