TF South to host student art reception Wednesday, April 6

LANSING, Ill. (April 5, 2022) — TF South will host a student art reception in the atrium of TF South on Wednesday, April 6 from 6–8 p.m. The reception will highlight TFS artists and give members of the public an opportunity to purchase student art.

The event will also feature awards being given to student artists, which will occur at 7 p.m. in the TFS auditorium. Awards will be given for Best of Show (2D and 3D), 1st and 2nd place for each of the five art classes, Principal’s Choice (a piece chosen by Principal Jake Gourley that becomes part of the school’s permanent art collection of student work displayed in the building), People’s Choice (the student vote), District Awards (two pieces selected as part of the district collection and permanent display of student art), and various awards from each teacher for artistic merit and other creative achievements.

Roughly 300 pieces of art will be on display Wednesday from students in classes titled: Art Fundamentals, Drawing, Digital Photography, Graphic Design, Painting, and Sculpture.

TF South is located at 18500 Burnham Avenue in Lansing.
