SOUTH HOLLAND, Ill. (March 30, 2022) – The Art and Design Department at South Suburban College (SSC) is inviting high school juniors and seniors to learn about the SSC Graphic Design Program this summer. The hands-on opportunity will run from June 6 – 16, 2022 between 9 a.m. and 11:45 a.m., Monday through Thursday at the South Holland campus.
Participants will have the opportunity to work directly with Pamela Planera, who is not only the Graphic Design and Visual Communications Coordinator at SSC, but a professional graphic design artist and photographer. She will share details learned throughout her years of experience in the field while focusing on design elements incorporating professional Adobe software tools such as Illustrator and Photoshop. A variety of topics will be covered from print to animation.
“If you are passionate about art and design, South Suburban College degree programs can teach you the skills to keep it at the center of your universe,” said Planera. “In the graphic design summer session, students will be able to build a hands-on experience that combines traditional fine arts with today’s digital tools and techniques. The students will explore their creativity into a career path in graphic design.”
The enrollment fee for this non-credit session, called Graphic Design I, is $99. This opportunity is limited to 20 students. The deadline to apply for this summer session is June 2, 2022, or until full capacity is reached. High Schoolers entering their junior or senior year of high school in the fall of 2022 are invited to register.
