Lansing Christian Girls Basketball plays in Christian school tournament at Illiana High School

LANSING, Ill. (February 26, 2022) – The Lansing Christian Girls Basketball team faced off against other local Christian schools in the area earlier this week at the annual Chicagoland Christian Junior High Athletic League Tournament.

The multi-day tournament was hosted by Illiana Christian High School in Dyer, Indiana, and included games on Wednesday, February 23; Thursday, February 24; and a championship game on Saturday, February 26.

Lansing Christian School’s team comprised 10 players, a mixture of eighth-grade, sixth-grade, and fifth-grade students. No seventh-graders are currently on the team.

The squad beat Southwest Chicago Christian School Oak Lawn 27-10 on Wednesday night. On Thursday, the team fell out of the single-elimination tournament after a 34-18 loss to Crown Point Christian School.

Student athletes for LCS during the tournament were: Rowan De Boer, Kenya-Rose Jeanty, Elizabeth Alons, Ava Hoogstra, Chloe Richards, Ella De Jong, Brooklyn Wells, Alex Cruz, Savannah Thomas, and Felicity Nieves. The team is coached by Henry Huitsing and Debbie Smits.
