Wednesday: Winter storm warning in effect until 6 p.m.

LANSING, Ill. (February 2, 2022) – The National Weather Service warns of heavy snowfall rates beginning after midnight Tuesday, with total accumulations of 5 to 12 inches. Snowfall rates of more than one inch per hour, are anticipated Tuesday night through Wednesday morning. Travel conditions are expected to be dangerous, impacting the Wednesday morning commute and possibly the evening commute.

Total snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible overnight into Wednesday morning. New snow throughout the day on Wednesday could add 6 to 10 inches. And Wednesday night the area could receive another 1 to 2 inches.
