LANSING, Ill. (January 28, 2022) – Throughout January, we have been inviting people to sign up as monthly supporters of The Lansing Journal.
Why? Because those monthly gifts help ensure that no matter what happens in 2022, this community will have a local newspaper.
We already had some early monthly donors — people who caught the vision right away and made a commitment early on. This summer 3.8 percent of our subscribers were also monthly supporters. By December we reached 4.5 percent, which is “healthier” but not “healthy.”
We need to reach 10 percent to be healthy.
So our January goal was 55 new monthly supporters. That number would put us at 6.1 percent, which is more than halfway to healthy!
If you believe, like I do, that our community deserves a viable, healthy newspaper, will you help us become healthier?

Healthier
Thanks to people who signed up this month, we are healthier now than we were at the beginning of January. Right now we are at 5.0 percent. But I would still love to reach that 6.1 percent milestone before the end of January! Wouldn’t you?
Little by little, we can reach this goal we share — a healthy, vibrant community newspaper. Today, will you be one of the 55 people we need?
In crazy times
Monthly supporters are so important to a community newspaper. That steady income gives us a foundation to build on, no matter what happens during these crazy times. And crazy times are exactly when it’s important to have a healthy source of news and information!
