LANSING, Ill. (January 28, 2022) – Thursday evening the US National Weather Service released an advisory estimating lake effect snow accumulations might reach 2–5 inches. “The nature of lake effect snow,” reads the advisory, “is such that snow intensity can vary significantly over just a few miles. The highest snow accumulations in Lake County Indiana will likely be confined to far northwest portions of the county, near the Illinois border.”
