Lansing heating centers now open ahead of extreme cold

LANSING, Ill. (January 24, 2022) – With frigid temperatures in the forecast for the coming days, the Village of Lansing has announced that heating centers have been activated throughout the village. Anyone in need of a heating center is asked to contact the Lansing Police Department to check on the availability of the centers listed below. The Lansing Police Department can be reached at 708-895-7150.

Primary Lansing heating center

Secondary heating centers

Eisenhower Community & Fitness Center

    • Monday – Friday, 5:30 a.m. – 9 p.m.
    • Saturday/Sunday (Sept – May), 7 a.m. – 4 p.m.

The Lansing Public Library

  • Open during regular business hours
    • Monday – Thursday, 9 a.m. – 8 p.m.
