  1. Thank you for the hard work you and all your staff do. I especially appreciate the difficulty it must be to have to continually solicit financial support from the community. While the weather is important to many people, that information is readily available from many other sources. Past articles imply you have limited resources which I certainly believe to be true. Should you use those resources elsewhere?? Happy Birthday!!

    • Bill, thanks for the kind words as well as the question! You’ll be glad to know that our experimentation with weather reporting has not cost us any money — in fact, we are hoping it will prove to be a way to generate income. This first post was a way to test an automated (and free) app that would create a localized weather report and deliver it directly to our subscribers. I spent some time playing with the settings and learned a lot in the process. So even though we decided not to use that app, the process itself was important for me, because part of our company culture is to keep learning, keep experimenting, keep trying. So even if posting the weather turns out to be a pointless idea that our readers don’t embrace, whatever we learn in the process will be valuable.

We will be publishing a new weather post tomorrow, and it will be different from today’s, so please click on it and tell me what you think. We’re trying something new (also free)! Once we get the basic format worked out, we hope to build on it. Josh and I think we can find ways to report on local weather that will be meaningful, interesting, and helpful to people, including more in-depth info whenever the weather impacts local events such as Fox Pointe programs or the Good Neighbor Day Parade.

For now we’re just experimenting, and we appreciate your feedback. Thanks for the birthday wishes too!
