Gerald L. “Jerry” Byerly Jr., age 63, late of Merrillville, IN, formerly of Dolton, IL, passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2022. Loving husband of Cynthia Byerly, nee Tomczak. Devoted father of Jonathan (Autumn) Byerly and the late Gerald Lee Byerly. Proud grandpa of Brooklyn and Brynn. Dear brother of Michael (Chris) Byerly, and Janice (Gary) Spiller. Kind uncle of several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Gerald and Marylou Byerly.
Visitation Sunday, January 16, 2022, from 3 – 8 p.m. Prayer service Monday, January 17, 2022, at 10 a.m. at Smits Funeral Home, 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane, Dyer, IN, with Deacon Jim Renwick officiating. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery – Calumet City, IL.
