LANSING, Ill. (December 17, 2021) – The updated list below includes any events gleaned from Facebook, emails, and responses to Holiday Events survey. As Lansing enters into the final week before Christmas, opportunities to update this page are limited, but organizations are invited to email [email protected] with additional event information.

Saturday, December 18

Shop Saturday at Bloom Township
Bloom Township is hosting a shopping event from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. that will include arts and crafts, clothing, shoes, toys, games, and other items. Shop Saturday is located at Bloom Township headquarters, 425 S. Halsted Street in Chicago Heights.

Last visit to Santa House
Santa will make his last appearance at the Santa House from 12 – 3 p.m.

Christmas Eve – Friday, December 24

Living Word Church: Candlelights and Violin, 5:00pm
Guests are welcome to join Living Word Church for a special Christmas Eve observance. Living Word Church is located at 2248 186th Street in Lansing. More information about their Christmas events is available from this Christmas post on the Living Word Facebook page.

Trinity Lutheran Church: Two Services, 5:00pm and 11:00pm
Trinity will offer two options for Christmas observance on Christmas Eve. At 5:00pm families can participate in a traditional worship service, and at 11:00pm congregants can celebrate the birth of the Christ-child with a special candlelight service. First Church PCA: Christmas Eve Candlelight Service, 6:30pm
Guests are welcome to join First Church for a Candlelight Service celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. The service will include Christmas carols and an inspiring message. First Church PCA is located at 3134 Ridge Road in Lansing. More information is available at www.firstchurchpca.org.

Cornerstone Church: Christmas Eve Family Service, 7:00pm

First United Methodist Church: Christmas Eve Service, 7:00pm

Festival of Lights, Christmas Trees Around the World
The Lansing Historical Society Museum hosts a display of more than 40 exhibits about Christmas celebrations from other countries and in town, including 37 authentically decorated trees, a scavenger hunt for children, and recipes from other lands. “A great family outing during the winter break from school!” says Museum Curator Barb Dust. No fee or registration required. The exhibit is open Mondays through Thursdays, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.; Saturdays, 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. Call to make arrangements for tours at other times: 708-474-7497.
