TFS Sports round-up: Girls basketball eases past Calumet

November 20-22, 2021

As part of The Lansing Journal’s ongoing efforts to increase sports coverage at TF South, we have asked TFS coaches to provide us with information about their matches/games. The Lansing Journal posts these scores and summaries multiple times per week in a “TFS Sports round-up.”

LANSING, Ill. (November 22, 2021) — The scores for November 20-22 are below. Also, due to a transmission complication that occurred last week, girls basketball scores from throughout last week are also included.

TFS Girls Basketball

Tuesday, November 16

Opponent: Lincoln-Way East High School (Bobby Bolton Classic tournament)

Score: TFS fell to Lincoln-Way East 55-35.

Jaiden Thompson notched 16 points in the game.

Wednesday, November 17

Opponent: Oak Lawn High School (Bobby Bolton Classic tournament)

Score: TFS lost in a close game to Oak Lawn 56-53.

Jaiden Thompson scored another 16 points in the contest, followed closely by Saniyah Payton, who netted 12.

Thursday, November 18

Opponent: Shepard High School (Bobby Bolton Classic tournament)

Score: TFS beat Shepard 49-47.

Tariya Wright led the scoring with 14 points. Jaiden Thompson and Saniyah Payton each scored 12.

Saturday, November 20

Opponent: Chicago Christian High School

Score: TFS bested Chicago Christian 58-29.

Monday, November 22

Opponent: Calumet High School

Score: TFS blew out Calumet High School 63-10.

Jaiden Thompson had 13 points while Katlynn Williams-Clark had 10.

Athlete of the week

TFS’ athlete of the week this week is Jaiden Thompson, who, as shown above, has been a scoring leader for TFS Girls Basketball this season.
