TFS Sports round-up: BOOminton draws hundreds of players to TF South

October 30 – November 1, 2021

As part of The Lansing Journal’s ongoing efforts to increase sports coverage at TF South, we have asked TFS coaches to provide us with information about their matches/games. The Lansing Journal posts these scores and summaries multiple times per week in a “TFS Sports round-up.”

LANSING, Ill. (November 1, 2021) — The scores for October 30 – November 1:

October 30

TFS Badminton

Opponent: Many schools competed, including TF South, Hinsdale Central, York, Bradley, Sandburg, Reavis, Argo, Lockport, Naperville Central, Joliet Central, Bolingbrook, Deerfield, Homewood-Flossmoor, Glenbard East, and others.

Score: TFS took first and second in doubles divisions A and B. The team also took first place in division D. South also took first in coed doubles and boys singles.

Coach Bob Tengstrand called the festive victories a “great day for South.” Over 100 participants were a part of the “costume optional” BOOminton competition, a friendly and fun tournament for schools from all over the Chicagoland area.

Tengstrand said the next open tournament will be Winterminton sometime in December.
