Lemont hands TF South football first loss since week one

LANSING, Ill. (October 15, 2021) – In a potential playoff preview, TF South football fell to the buzzsaw that is Lemont High School Friday night, as the undefeated team bested TFS 42-7.

Lemont — a school which, like TF South, is currently without a mascot due to a recent board decision — hosted the contest. The team is in the same division as TF South, and prior to Friday’s game had beaten its last four opponents by 39 points or more.

TF South avoided a shutout late in the fourth quarter when senior quarterback Jacob Urdiales threw a short touchdown pass to sophomore Charles Miles. The PAT was successful.

The loss makes TFS 6-2 on the season, and 4-1 in conference play.

Last week’s win over district rival TF North secured TF South a playoff berth. A win tonight, however, would have put TFS in a better position to get a more favorable first round playoff match-up. The same holds true for next week.

Next week’s game is the last of the regular season, and will take place at TF South at 7 p.m. against Hillcrest High School. TF South is located at 18500 Burnham Avenue in Lansing.
