As part of The Lansing Journal’s ongoing efforts to increase sports coverage at TF South, we have asked TFS coaches to provide us with information about their matches/games. The Lansing Journal will be posting these scores and summaries multiple times per week in a “TFS Sports round-up.”

LANSING, Ill. (October 4, 2021) — The scores for October 2–4:

TFS Boys Country
Meet: Joe Mortimer Invitational
Score: TF South placed 22nd out of 32 teams
The meet for for freshman and sophomores only. Only one sophomore ran for TFS: Carlos Cervantes—70th place (20:12), The results for TFS freshmen: Rashad Peeples—99th place (22:19), Kenan Maxey—108th (22:39), Rodrigo Cortez—115th (23:36), Ben Gresham—116th (23:43), Demetrius Thomas—119th (23:51), Jayden Scott—131st (25:28), Carson Harris—149th (28:28), and Colin Harris—168th (41:47).
The boys and girls cross country teams will compete at Central Park in Oak Forest on Tuesday, October 5.
October 2
TF United Soccer
TF North and South have a combined soccer team, called TF United.
Opponent: Reavis High School
Score: TFU fell to Reavis 5-2.
Diego Gonzalez scored the only goal for TFS in the loss, as the other tally for TF South was scored on an own goal. Jesus Puerta had nine saves. The teams is now 5-6-1 overall and 3-4-1 in conference.
