TFS Sports round-up: Ethan Modjeski named an All-Conference golfer

As part of The Lansing Journal’s ongoing efforts to increase sports coverage at TF South, we have asked TFS coaches to provide us with information about their matches/games. The Lansing Journal will be posting these scores and summaries multiple times per week in a “TFS Sports round-up.”

LANSING, Ill. (September 24, 2021) — The scores for September 23-24:

Tournament: South Suburban Blue Conference Tournament

Score: TFS takes fourth place out of seven teams:

TF South rallied late in Thursday’s tournament to move into fourth place overall. Junior Ethan Modjeski led the way for TFS shooting 89 after birdieing his 18th hole to finish in the top ten and earn All-Conference honors. The remaining TFS squad played well also: Senior Davey Mosele (92 – 13th place), sophomore Andrew Danehl (98 – 18th place), freshman Ryan Marnell (101 – 21st place), junior Ryan Avenatti (104 – 24th place), and junior Nicholas Rincon (113 – 27th place).

Coach Matthew Johnson described his golfers’ performance at the tournament as a “great job by all.”

TF United Soccer

TF North and South have a combined soccer team, called TF United.

Opponent: Shepard High School

Score: TFU falls to Shepard 2-0.

A bright spot for TFU in the shut-out was keeper Jesus Puerta’s eight saves in goal.
